System requirements and compatibility

This guide provides information on the prerequisites to installing UpSlide, as well as further details on which operating systems and environments, Microsoft Office versions, and other add-ins work with UpSlide.

Prerequisites

Compatibilities

In this section, we'll use the following visual aids for clarity:

✅ Compatible

⚠️ Largely compatible but to use with caution 

❌ Not compatible

 

Operating systems

✅ Windows: UpSlide is fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11, both x32 and x64.

❌ Mac: UpSlide is a VSTO add-in and cannot be installed on a Mac.

 

Office versions

Supported versions:

✅ Microsoft 365, UpSlide works seamlessly with Microsoft 365.

✅ Office 2019, Office 2021, these versions are fully compatible with UpSlide.

✅ Office 2016, most versions are compatible with UpSlide. See details in the Not supported section below.

Not supported:

❌ Office Online, UpSlide is not compatible with Office Online.

❌ Office 2010 and Office 2013 are not supported by Microsoft anymore nor by us. We do not guarantee full compatibility with these Office versions.

❌ Office 2016 64 bits (16.0.4266.1001) and associated MSO updates are not fully compatible with UpSlide. Therefore, we do not recommend using them.

 

Virtual machines

✅ UpSlide can be used in VDI environments, such as Citrix or VMWare. 

The prerequisites above still apply to virtual environments, with some limitations. For more information on installation guidelines, please read this article.

Add-ins

❌ Anaplan is not compatible with UpSlide.

⚠️ Capital IQ must be deactivated in Word, or it may cause issues with the Excel link functionality for exports from Excel to Word. Capital IQ is otherwise fully compatible with UpSlide in Excel and PowerPoint.

⚠️ Bloomberg works with UpSlide. However, it will not load in Excel if files are opened using our Go to source functionality.

✅ Factset is fully compatible with UpSlide.

✅ Thinkcell is fully compatible with UpSlide.
