If your PowerPoint presentation is multilingual, use the Language button with one click to set the spell check language of the selected shapes or text boxes in your slide. The Language feature also works to set the language of a selection of slides.
Set the proofing language of an item in a slide
- In your slide in PowerPoint, select the text box or shape for which you want to change the proofing language. You can select several items if needed.
- Go to the UpSlide tab and click the Language button.
- Choose the language for your item in the drop-down menu.
- The proofing language is now set to the correct one for the selected items.
Set the proofing language of your slides
- In the thumbnail pane in PowerPoint (on the left), select the slides for which you want to change the proofing language. You can select all the slides to change the language of the whole presentation.
- Go to the UpSlide tab and click the Language button.
- Choose the language for your slides in the drop-down menu.
- The proofing language is now set to the correct one for the selected slides.
Important
When PowerPoint changes the proofing language, it does not automatically re-check the slides for mistakes. Therefore, PowerPoint may end up flagging text as misspelled despite it being spelled correctly. To trigger the correct spell check after you set it simply click the shape and it will correct itself.
