As an administrator, you can customize all of the formatting features in Excel. There are two main reasons you may want to do this: (A) your company branding has been updated, or (B) you want to provide additional formatting selections to your users. This second reason is most applicable in situations when additional teams at your company are looking to use UpSlide or when you want to use special formatting for a specific client project.

Editing an existing theme template
- Click the Theme button in the top right corner of the UpSlide ribbon.
- Select Edit Theme Library from the drop-down.
- To edit an existing theme template, use the options button available in each template row and select Edit.
- A new Excel workbook will be opened.
- If requested, you should enable macros. The theme template file will not function properly if macros are disabled.
- Each sheet in the file corresponds to the different UpSlide elements in Excel that you can customize, including Smart Format for tables and charts, custom line styles, number formats, background colors, borders, etc. You're able to customize everything that was initially customized for you by your Consultant.
- Use the native Excel functionality to adjust the elements. You can add and remove options using the Add and Remove buttons in most sheets.
- The Add button will add a new element to the bottom of the list.
- The Remove button will remove the last element from the bottom of the list.
- Save the file to apply the changes to your Excel theme on your machine. Changes you make at this stage are not live with your team until you complete the export action below.

Adding an additional theme template
- Click the Theme button in the top right corner of the UpSlide ribbon.
- Select Edit Theme Library from the drop-down.
- To add an additional theme template, click on New button in the bottom right hand corner.
- A new Excel workbook will be opened, which contains a default theme.
- Follow the steps six to eight of Editing an existing theme template to adjust the formatting of the new theme.
Tip
If you are adding an additional theme for your team, make sure to change the Style Name box on the first sheet. The name you enter will appear in the Theme drop-down list.
Deleting an existing theme template
- Click the Theme button in the top right corner of the UpSlide ribbon.
- Select Edit Theme Library from the drop-down.
- To delete an existing theme template, use the options button available in each template row and select Delete.
- Changes you make at this stage are not live with your team until you complete the export action below.
Exporting your templates changes to your users
The changes are now active on your machine only. Test the changes you have made before sharing the update with your team. Follow the instructions on this page to export the .UpSlide file so everyone has the updated templates.
