UpSlide MCP connects Claude to your UpSlide environment. You can ask Claude to build slides, insert library content, add a section/subsection, or refresh Excel links - all in plain language, directly from a conversation. No special commands needed.
Before you start, make sure the UpSlide add-in is open in PowerPoint or Excel and that you are signed in to Claude.
How to connect
- Open Claude and go to Customize.
- Click Connectors.
- Find UpSlide Connector.
- Click Connect.
Important
Only Claude for PowerPoint and for Excel is currently supported

Good to know
- Claude only - UpSlide MCP works with Claude Powerpoint and Excel only. Other AI assistants are not supported for now.
- Add-in must be open - the UpSlide add-in must be active in PowerPoint or Excel before you start your conversation.
Troubleshooting
- Claude does not recognize UpSlide commands: Go to Claude > Customize > Connectors. UpSlide should be listed under connectors and not marked as Blocked.
- Authentication failed: Go to Claude > Customize > Connectors. If UpSlide shows a warning icon, click Connect and sign in again.
- “No active session” error: Make sure the UpSlide add-in is open in PowerPoint or Excel before starting your conversation. Click on Connect to MCP in the UpSlide ribbon if it doesn’t work.
- Claude does not recognize our tools: Ask to Claude to refresh the tools or open a new chat
