The Excel Link Manager (ELM) allows you to update multiple Excel Links at once through a single pane. If you are used to the Update All window, the difference is an improved and more user-friendly navigation pane, where you can group links by slide or Excel sources or filter only those links with update issues.
Activating the Excel Link Manager
If you are on version 6.8.42 or higher, you can follow the below instructions. You can check which version you're using by going into the UpSlide Settings in the tab About.
If you do not have the option to activate it, you are on an older version of UpSlide and should contact your IT or admin to check when you will be upgraded:
- Open the Update All window in PowerPoint
- Toggle Try the Excel Link Manager at the bottom of the window
How to navigate the Excel Link Manager
Thanks to the Excel Link Manager, save time updating multiple links at once. If you are looking at updating a single link we recommend that you follow these steps.
The Excel Link Manager will enable you to:
- View and navigate links grouped by slide and workbook/sheets.
- Update multiple links at once (e.g. all links sharing the same Excel source, all links in a slide, or all links in a presentation).
- View problematic links grouped by issue type (no source, multiple sources or outdated content).
Please be aware that the option to Include all open documents when updating Excel Links is no longer available in the Excel Link Manager.
