The UpSlide automated PowerPoint Table of Contents helps you structure your presentation with a clear agenda, sections and subsections. The flexible automation allows for a wide variety of styles customized to your brand. This page is designed to take you through the options.
What can be automated?
The full design and elements of three primary pages you may have in your deliverables:
- Table of Contents / Agenda page
- Section dividers
- Subsection dividers (it's possible to disable subsection dividers)
For the three pages there are several elements of automation that can be customized in design (including omission):
- Section/Subsection numbering style
- Section/Subsection title format and positioning
- Display of individual Slide Titles (if applicable)
- Font type, sizing and colors
- Page numbering
Other than the three primary pages above UpSlide can also be customized to automate footers and reminders.
Footer: Have live content in your Title Slide automatically pulled through into your footers – commonly used content include Presentation Title, Date, Client Name etc.
Reminders: Textbox on normal slides which automatically fills in which Section and Subsection (if applicable) the slide is housed in.

Limitations
Despite the flexibility to design your automated elements there are some limitations. The formatting and positioning of all automated elements cannot be adjusted by an end user producing a document. The automated elements remain the same regardless of any slide or background changes. Example scenarios:
Setting appendix section dividers to have different look and feel
The positioning and formatting of the automated elements on a section divider will be the same on an appendix section divider. This includes numbering style as well as the formatting of the text boxes (colors, fonts, etc.).
We can set appendix sections to use a different layout to a normal section. This means your appendix dividers can have a different background style but not a different text style.
Having more than one section divider style
When inserting an automated section divider only one layout will be used. After the divider has been inserted via UpSlide, a user can add background images, different colors etc. as they need. The automated text will always appear in the same color and positioning. If you expect users to want to customize the appearance of their dividers regularly you should either set the text color to contrast well with the commonly used images OR you 'reserve' a space on your divider. See below.
